The MRI went great this morning. Our appointment, like I said, was at 9am. And the MRI at around 10:30. For those of you who don't know, Grand Rapids is blessed with a wonderful Children's hospital so there is a whole slew of pediatric nurses and doctors who are simply amazing with children. Isabel's nurse, Miss Sue, was great! Very knowledgeable for me and very friendly for Isabel. Anyway, they put this cream on her hand to make it feel numb and then after about an hour of preparing--explaining things to me, explaining and doing a stuffed animal demonstration of an IV insertion for Isabel, paperwork signed, etc.--she was given the IV (which still hurt a little) and then she was put under. Pretty crazy stuff, this Propofol. It put her under in a matter of seconds and she came out of it in a matter of minutes. She was so cute when they put her under a really big yawn and she was out! And then she was pretty loopy for about a half our after, but now is back to normal.
All in all, Isabel absolutely LOVED going to the hospital and having medicine and watching the TV and wearing "hospital jammies!"
Also, we are currently applying for a state funded program that will pay all the copays and any other types of things that aren't covered by insurance for a considerably small amount of money. I think that it was fate that we ended up here in Michigan--the state provided schooling and therapy that she has had for the past three years and now this Childrens Special Healthcare Services.
Thanks again to all of you who have sent thoughts and prayers and support our way!!
Praise the Lord!!! What a testimony! God is faithful. Stay encouraged!
